Short Summary: Peititioner arguing that the slave owner unlawfully imported slaves into the sate under the act of 1831. Holding that a person who removes all of their property and intends to remain in another state (in this case, MO) has lost domicile. However, as in this case, the person returns before reaching their intended place of domicile, they have not given up domicile in Maryland. Appeal dismissed and freedom in light of the act of 1831 was not given.
