| Short Summary: | Suit brought against owner of 14 year old enslaved child, Jo, aged 14 years. Jo had been hired out by Eborn and in the promissory note agreed that if Jo were to run away then owner would not receive payment for that time (contrary to Texas law). Jo ran away at Christmas but was hunted and returned to slavery in a week. Suit in regards to loss of time of one week of labor. |
